Community Advisory Service

Our experienced Community Advisory service is available to listen to concerns, provide information and offer support for yourself, family and friends.  Each person’s circumstances are different, so information and advice is individually tailored to your situation and priorities.

Who is it for?

When day-to-day activities and general lifestyle are restricted due to ill health or disability, it can be stressful, confusing and overwhelming.

Speaking with our Community Advisor can make a positive difference by helping you feel informed, thus enabling decision making and ultimately flagging a sense of optimism for the future.

Our Community Advisory service provides:

  • Information – about resources, options and pathways for support
  • Informal counselling – helping to reduce stress or confusion
  • Support – helping identify priorities, make decisions and take action
  • Advocacy – providing an additional ‘voice’ to ensure equity of access to information and support

Our Community Advisory service assists people who are:

  • Carers or family members of an older person or someone living with disability
  • Affected by dementia
  • Not sure how to access My Aged Care or an aged care assessment or residential care
  • Living in the Lane Cove area or local government areas of Willoughby, North Sydney and Mosman
  • Affected by mental health issues
  • From different language and cultural backgrounds
  • Older men
  • Affected by domestic violence/elder abuse
  • Veterans
  • From diverse gender backgrounds
  • Experiencing financial hardship
  • From Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds
